Spring Fest: 17th & 18th September 2011Picton is holding this
FREE festival to welcome in the new season as part of the
Real New Zealand Rugby World Cup Event. Featuring music from
Cornerstone Roots,
LA Mitchell,
Dukes &
Rio Hemopo, The '
Sample Marlborough' marquee will have wine and food tastings of Marlborough's world famous Sauvignon Blanc with fresh Marlborough seafood and
other regional gourmet delights and cooking demonstrations from local
Chefs.
The finale at 8.45pm Sunday will feature
Highly Flammable in a fire and pyrotechnic finale (and Nikki is spinning with them!)

Now in it's second year and held in Northlands - the North Island..about as far away from Jugglers Rest as you can get - but it is beeauuutiful up there!
Spring Festival of Circus & Fire performance related skills set in
the lush surrounds of Native NZ Bush with a twist. Dress up and have a

Circulation Festival: 11th-15th November 2011Highly Flammable
Fire Performers are holding their very successful annual Fire,
Juggling, Music & Circus Festival at Whare Flat, just outside
Dunedin. Each year it gets better and better!
Circulation is about participation, sharing knowledge, skills,
sustaining the creative community and having a good time kiwi-styles. It
is a multi-layered event with guest teachers in juggling, poi, contact
staff, stilt walking, unicycling, mime, clowning, trapeze, acro balance,
aerial silks and of course the fire arts!
THE festival to go
to if you're interested in any form of circus skill and excellent
value. We often have people staying with us on their way through - lift
share from Jugglers Rest.

Christmas: 24th & 25th December 2011Come and celebrate Christmas with us!
With a real tree, decorations and even a small present for every guest to open, it’ll be just like being at home - well maybe with warmer weather ….
At Jugglers Rest we’ll be having a barbecue and salads with the traditional kiwi dessert of pavlova. There will be a charge for this to cover costs and guests should bring their own choice of drinks. Don’t forget we have a blender and smoothie maker - perfect for Christmas cocktails!
NB: There will be no check in or out on Christmas Day (25th December) ….so if you want to join in and celebrate with us then please book in advance and arrive on or before 24th December and leave on or after 26th December.
New Years Eve: 31st DecemberPicton will be celebrating in style again, as it did last year, with a fantastic firework display down at the waterfront - THE place to be!

The World Buskers Festival:
Jugglers Rest is the perfect place to relax and get into the right mood before or after you head down to or return from, the world renowned Busker’s Festival in Christchurch. It’s well worth a visit and sometimes we're lucky enough to have some of the performers resting up with us!

Picton's Maritime Festival: January 21st 2012
Our vibrant seaside town celebrates its maritime history by holding a festival annually on its Foreshore. Stay at Jugglers Rest, mix with the locals and enjoy this FREE festival.
There's a raft race, a market, food stalls, and a beer tent where you can enjoy some of New Zealand's best brews while taking in Picton's stunning scenery. Sit back and be entertained by local musicians and a fantastic fireworks display during the evening.
Fire performance in the evening is proudly provided by the Jugglers Rest Crew (YOU could be a part of this!)
Luminate Festival: 1st - 8th February 2012
Luminate is Jugglers Rest 'home' festival and we actively participate organizing & running workshops and performing at The Flaming Juggle Toy Poi Zone.
Located on the stunning Takaka Hill (a quartz mountain) in the beautiful Golden Bay region it celebrates the ancient summer harvest festival of Lughnasadgh, midway between the summer solstice and autumn equinox. Workshops, fire performances, live music, healing and sustainability are the themes; set in the conservation reserve of Canaan Downs. A true New Zealand festival experience.

Kiwiburn:
Kiwiburn is New Zealand's annual regional Burning Man event. It's held at Whakamaru Domain, Mangakino, midway between Rotorua and Taupo, North Island.
This is an awesome festival which celebrates the beauty of fire and self sufficiency and is derived from the world famous Burning Man Festival in the Nevada Desert.

Marlborough Food and Wine Festival:
Billed as New Zealand’s premier food and wine experience and just down the road in Blenheim. There's transport laid on specially from Picton and internationally famous performers. Last year Bic Runga played here.
The festival showcases the very best of New Zealand's music, food and wine.
Stay at Jugglers Rest, catch the bus there and back, and eat and drink your new purchases in comfort whilst you watch our evenings entertainment.
Wellington Fringe Festival:
Once again Jugglers Rest offers the perfect place to wind up or down from the capital’s vibrant fringe festival. First held in 1994, the Fringe NZ Festival presents more than 100 productions at venues throughout Wellington. Shows, cabaret, drama, street theatre, gigs, live music and madcap stunts all celebrate the art of performance.
Stay with us before you head off into the madness of the fringe’s performances in the North Island or tell us all about it when you arrive.

Shrove Tuesday (Pancake Day):
The traditional day for pancakes. There’ll be plenty of lemons from our garden so eat them in the traditional way with lemons and sugar - the frying pan will be hot for breakfast !
Hokitika Wild Food Festival:
Yes - It’s all about food!
And we are talking unusual food - ever fancied trying possum, snail, wild boar, west coast whitebait or huhu grubs?
Also the very best in West Coast beer and hospitality.

Havelock Mussel Festival:
This small festival just a 40 minute drive from Picton celebrates the fact that it's the world's biggest producer of green lipped mussels.
Live music from local bands, mussel opening, eating, cooking and tasting are all on offer and it offers the visitor an interesting diversion for the day.

WOMAD:
WOMAD stands for World of Music and Dance and it’s a fantastic three day festival!
More than 200 performers from all over the world come together to entertain and amaze, workshops, world food smiles and usually sunshine!
Now an annual event and held in the shadow of the awesome Mount Taranaki in the North Island. Bring it on!

19th New Zealand Juggling and Circus festival:

Naturally close to our hearts the New Zealand Juggling Association hosts this great value four day festival. It has workshops, an open stage and 24 hour practise area.
This year it's being held in Rotorua in the North Island.
Jugglers Rest is THE place to meet up with like minded people, blag a lift and of course practise your skills before you go and when you return!

The Forrest Graperide:
The Grape Ride is a bike race which traverses a 101km circuit through some of the most stunning scenery New Zealand has to offer. Starting in heart of the wine growing district, Renwick, it continues through Blenheim and Picton, finishing on the Queen Charlotte Drive.Jugglers Rest offers free and secure bike storage and is used to hosting riders.
If taking part is too energetic you could always watch this exciting race!
Omaka Classic Fighters Airshow:
Easter WeekendHeld at Omaka Airfield, Blenheim (a 20 minute drive away) this wonderful bi-annular flying spectacular will be popular, so pre-book your accommodation at Jugglers Rest now to avoid disappointment. Classic Fighters is more than just an airshow; flying is combined with ground theatre, vehicles, pyrotechnics and set pieces to create a spectacle that all will enjoy.

ANZAC Day: 25th April
More food! This time delicious ANZAC biscuits. Baked to remember the armed forces of the Australian and New Zealand Army Core. The oven will be hot and the kitchen will smell great. We just need you to help us eat them.
